Revolutionize Energy : Gemini’s OIP Instrument Transformer

About Gemini Instratech & OIP Instrument Transformer

Gemini Instratech is a well-known name in the Indian market when it comes to Oil Impregnated Paper (OIP) instrument transformers. The company is targeting its market not only in India but on a global scale being one of largest OIP Instrument transformer manufacturers. They have been operating for many years in this industry. OIP transformers are specifically designed to cater to the unique needs of power utilities and industrial customers in India. These transformers offer various options such as current transformers, voltage transformers, and combined transformers.

The OIP transformers manufactured by them are engineered to be reliable and long-lasting. The company has established processes that ensure their products perform at a high level while in service. OIP transformers have gained popularity in recent years due to their ability to withstand harsh environments and provide precise measurements in high voltage systems.

Voltage Count of Oil Impregnated Paper (OIP) Instrument Transformers

This is similar to the OIP insulated instrument transformer which also uses Oil Impregnated Paper (OIP). It’s another type of a Voltage Transformer which has a voltage count of 12kV-150kV.

Design Philosophy & Highlights

For instance, compressed joints are provided on secondary leads to prevent loose connections that could occur in fastened joints. The lumped primary winding with rectangular copper strips offers the highest mechanical strength during short circuit conditions, providing high dynamic current withstand-ability. Specially designed rectangular copper lugs for CT primary winding terminations provide strong and reliable joints and no hot spots.

Each instrument transformer is pneumatically pressure tested at 1 kg/cm2 (gauge) at various assembly stages to ensure the effectiveness of sealings provided. After oil flooding, each unit is hydraulically pressurized at 1 kg/cm2 (gauge) and maintained under pressure for 6 hours to ensure complete and homogeneous soaking of paper with oil and also checks effectiveness of sealings. The products are adequately treated for corrosion resistance.

Advantages of Oil Impregnated Paper (OIP)  Instrument Transformers

Ability to withstand harsh environments

These transformers are designed to handle extreme temperatures, humidity and even pollution. This is especially important in India, where power utilities and industrial customers often operate in challenging conditions. OIP instrument transformers can handle these harsh environments without compromising on performance, ensuring that power is delivered reliably and efficiently.

Accuracy

OIP transformers are designed to have a low dielectric loss factor, which means that they can provide accurate measurements even in high voltage systems. This is important for power utilities and industrial customers who need to measure voltage and current accurately for billing and monitoring purposes.

Easy To Maintain

In addition to their robustness and accuracy, OIP instrument transformers are also easy to maintain. These transformers require minimal maintenance, which means that they have a lower total cost of ownership compared to traditional transformers. This is an important factor for power utilities and industrial customers who need to keep their operating costs low while ensuring high levels of reliability and efficiency.

OIP instrument transformers are an excellent choice for power utilities and industrial customers in India. These transformers are designed to withstand harsh environments, provide accurate measurements and are easy to maintain. With the growing demand for reliable and efficient power in India, OIP transformers are becoming increasingly popular. Gemini Instratech is a leading manufacturer of OIP instrument transformers in India and is committed to delivering high-quality products to its customers.
